Increasing Workforce Productivity with Better Hiring & Promotion Decisions

HRMA Monthly Luncheon
Thursday, June 16, 2020

11:30 AM – 1:00 PM

Guest Speaker:

Jeffrey D. Klawsky, Ph.D.

Business Psychologist

Summary of Presentation:

Hiring and promotion decisions are best made by considering both qualitative and quantitative candidate information.  However, decision makers often place too much emphasis on qualitative judgments (‘gut feelings’ and ‘intuition’) that can be biased and lead to poor decisions.

This presentation will identify how qualitative and quantitative information should be combined to make the best hiring and promotion decisions.  A variety of standardized candidate assessment tools, techniques, and processes will be discussed, each of which is best suited to specific employee hiring, promotion, and development applications.

The Learning Objectives Include:

  • Review of common hiring and promotion mistakes made by managers.
  • Learn best practices to predict success for entry level and professional positions, managerial positions, Executive and Senior Leadership positions.
  • Learn how to identify future leaders in your organization.
  • Review recruiting strategies for millennials.
