The Society for Human Resource Management of New Mexico (SHRM of NM) is an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management. We represent over 1,000 Human Resource Professionals in the state of New Mexico.
Membership in professional organizations such as SHRM and HRMA is the most recognizable symbol of one's contribution and commitment to the profession. Purpose
Our purpose is to promote the mission of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), to serve the needs of Human Resources professionals and advance the Human Resources profession. We aim to connect Human Resource professionals throughout New Mexico, to provide support to affiliate SHRM chapters in our state, and to act as a conduit in the communication network between National SHRM and local chapters. We are volunteer leaders dedicated to the Human Resources profession.
Objectives
- Promote high professional and ethical performance standards in the field of Human Resources.
- Improve the competence of Human Resource professionals through education and other dissemination of relevant professional information.
- Promote greater recognition of the relationships with allied groups and professionals.
Our objectives are achieved through:
- Monthly luncheon meetings featuring a variety of speakers on HR related topics.
- Regular legislative updates on proposed and new legislation affecting the Human Resources field.
- Additional opportunities to attend professional development programs.
- Active member participation in committees relating to many areas of Human Resources.
- Networking opportunities provided to members at our various events.
- Publication of a monthly newsletter with original topics of interest to HR professionals.

Member Involvement
HRMA offers a number of opportunities for member involvement through networking, leadership, participation in various committees and professional development events.
